Milestones

Gearwell refurbishes about 700 donated bikes a year and gives most of them away, and teaches free repair classes three nights a week. Our electricity bill is now our largest cost after rent. The building owner has agreed to a rooftop system. A local installer sized it to cover nearly all of our use, and the savings over its life would buy roughly 150 more bikes a year.
